When your child isn't feeling well, you want answers and care without having to wait days for an appointment.

At Sunshine Pediatrics, we provide sick visits for infants, children, and adolescents and offer same-day sick appointments when available. Our goal is to evaluate your child promptly, explain what may be causing their symptoms, and help them feel better as quickly as possible.

Same-Day Sick Appointments

Children don't always get sick according to a schedule. A fever can develop overnight, an earache can suddenly become painful, or your child may wake up with a sore throat on a school morning.

That's why we reserve availability for sick visits and offer same-day appointments when available.

Our pediatric sick visits include evaluation and treatment of many common childhood illnesses and concerns, including:

Testing When Appropriate

Depending on your child's symptoms and clinical evaluation, testing may be recommended for certain illnesses.

Testing available in our office may include testing for common conditions such as flu, strep throat, COVID-19, and other illnesses when clinically appropriate.

Your pediatrician will determine whether testing is necessary based on your child's symptoms, examination, age, and medical history.

When Your Child Has a Fever

Fever is one of the most common reasons parents contact a pediatrician.

A fever itself is often the body's response to an infection, but your child's age, temperature, symptoms, behavior, hydration, and medical history all matter when deciding what should be done.

Fever in a young infant requires special attention. Contact your pediatrician promptly for guidance if your newborn or young infant develops a fever.

For severe symptoms or a medical emergency, call 911 or seek emergency medical care.
